Hey folks. KD here with a quick update for you all.
I want to thank everyone who’s been reading War Takes since I started it and have found my attempts at insights interesting and useful. I’m really looking forward to continuing to write and offer my analysis going forward into a new year and a new administration.
That being said, I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I’m going to be adjusting my output a bit going forward. Before I even started this blog, I had the idea somehow that I was going to do an essay a week. I thankfully managed to convince myself that was a very bad idea before I even got started, and thought every two weeks was a much more reasonable goal to set.
While that might have been more reasonable for me under different circumstances, its proving harder than I thought with a full-time job, and other responsibilities and hobbies on my plate. Not to mention, finding topics that people will find interesting and having the time to do proper research and find sources for them
All that is a long winded way of saying that I’m going to scale back a bit and do one essay per month per month, minimum, going forward. Every so often if a big, important event happens, I’ll reserve the right to shove in a special-edition War Takes for that month in addition to the usual monthly essay, to offer my insights on whatever is tearing apart the world at that given moment. But barring sudden crises, on a regular month you can expect one essay – probably at the front end of the month.
I figure now was the best time to adjust my output after a few months of getting a handle on this – and before I had more followers to disappoint. My hope is that this will allow me to deliver some better essays to you all in terms of quality – maybe make them a bit longer, or at least be able to devote a little bit more time to refining and crafting them and offering better depth. This also may give me more time to play around with other ideas for content that you may all find interesting and engaging – perhaps some YouTube videos, streams, or a podcast or something else audio-visual. I’m still brainstorming, so stay tuned for more information on that front.
Anyway, expect the next War Takes essay to drop the first week of March – unless we have another big coup attempt, or civil war, or war scare, or what have you between now and then. I’ll keep you all in the loop about any other new content ideas I come up with. In the meantime, between essays, you can catch me ranting and raving on Twitter at @War_Takes.
